LEED AP BD+C follows a 2-year renewal cycle. Credential holders must earn 30 continuing education (CE) hours per cycle, with at least 6 hours specifically related to BD+C topics. GBCI accepts CE hours from AIA (American Institute of Architects), ASHRAE, AEE, USGBC education programs, and a wide range of approved providers.
GBCI provides an online CE tracking portal. Renewal fees apply at the end of each 2-year cycle. Credential holders who let their credential lapse can reinstate by completing the required CE hours plus a reinstatement fee, or by retaking the exam.
